You say no to life and therefore you're not living.
- Yes Man
Jim Carrey is the Yes Man
I was a great fan of Jim Carrey in my teenage years. As in. He has a special part in my book of life when I was in high school. Together with Dennis of Ghost Fighter. I know, I'm weird. :D
Yes Man was shown in the US last December but I'm not sure if it's been already shown here in the Philippines. Or if it'll ever be shown. I hope so, I think it'll be another good film of Carrey's since Bruce Almighty.
Before New Moon (Twilight's sequel) enters into the picture, Underworld's prequel will give us a bloody battle between vampires and werewolves.
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans will be showing on Jan 22. Since this is a prequel, we won't see pretty Kate Beckinsale. Sad, huh? I've always like the Underworld series but without the agile Selene (Beckinsale's character), I'm not too excited to see this in the big screen.
Man's best friend won't leave him be even to the movies. We've seen Dalmatians 101, Beethoven, Underdog, and classic Lassie among all dog films out there. Perhaps inspired from the glamorized chihuahua with the likes of Paris Hilton's pet, Disney gives us Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
Drew Barrymore voices over Chloe, Andy Garcia on Delgado
I can't find the trailer that's being shown in movie houses recently. The trailer above is like an MTV of a chihuahua singing the Chihuahua song. :D
Meanwhile, Dreamworks has also done their bit on our canine friends with Hotel for Dogs.
Hotel for Dogs Trailer
That shoe vending machine is sweet. Also, Lisa Kudrow is very brilliant with a dumb blonde character. ^^
It's like the style of X-Men Origins getting into the beginning of the character but, of course, the martial arts similar with Dragon Ball perhaps?
I've never actually played Street Fighter that long except in PC simulators so I'm not exactly a fan. But Chun Li was one of the famous characters in the Capcom game. Why? Does anyone know? If you do, please bring light to this matter. Thanks! :)
Love Me Again (Land Down Under) trailer, starring Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual
Shot in Bukidnon and Australia (the land down under), Star Cinema presents Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual's first movie together after the success of their TV series Lobo.
Angel and Piolo takes their heels into cowboy boots as they delve into the story of two former lovers who had to be separated and then brought back together by fate. Will they be able to bring back the old flame once more?
The movie will be shown here in the Philippines by January 15.
I've seen this trailer when we watched Ang Tanging Ina N'yong Lahat and I think it's a good film, the usual romance-drama that is... well Star Cinema always have good films as far as I can tell, especially in the drama arena.
Local films going to the province or abroad has been the trend nowadays like Baler, Dubai, Batanes, Milan, etc. Good thing they didn't exactly put in Australia in the title, though they're hinting at it with "Land Down Under" which I don't think is relevant. Well at least we also see here the beauty of Bukidnon. :)
Piolo sung the theme song and I have to admit his voice has gone a long way since he attempted his music career. (I loved the theme song of One More Chance and was surprised to know Piolo was the recorded voice in it.) Meanwhile, Angel sure has more drama in her now; so does this mean she got the training she intended when she went to ABS-CBN and left GMA?
I'm just a little bothered with the love scene. Why do they need to focus on Piolo's abs?! He's handsome, right, but I don't think the abs have something to do with the love scene or the movie for that matter. Nitpicking. Haha.
I just love Wolverine's character even when I was a child watching the cartoon series at Channel 2. (Oha I still remember that. That's the only X-men cartoon series that I like.)
But Hugh Jackman made me love Wolverine even more. Being the sexy rebel wolf that he is, Wolverine made a big break for Jackman, ei?
I'll be watching this movie for that Gambit confrontation. And was that Sabre Tooth? Lavhet! ^^
Because of the hubbub in Hotel626 (which I still can't play due to scary reasons hehe), I got curious with Quarantine's flash game also. However I think it's not really that scary compared to Hotel626. It's like playing Resident Evil or House of the Dead.
And I thought Terminator ended with its third installment, Rise of the Machines. I don't see any Arnold in the trailer. I'll miss the big guy. Hehe.
But among all the Terminator movies, I still love the second one, Judgment Day, because of its heart-warming presentation. (It's a robot film I know.) Though I haven't really watched the first in the series.
Are you a Terminator fan? Or John Connor's? Or even Schwarzenegger's? :D
Opens in the US this December 19th while here in the Philippines on February next year. Hayz.
Anyway, I love Will Smith movies so I'm putting this in my to-watch list. Plus this film is from the makers of "The Pursuit of Happyness" as well. Hopefully, a great story again. :)
I'm so glad to know that I've seen most of Yahoo's top movie trailers for 2008. (Well, Harry Potter hasn't been shown yet and I'm still griping for Twilight. Hehe.)
So here's their top 10 in descending order. ;)
10. Kung Fu Panda. One of my favorite animation films of all-time I guess. I just love the moral of the movie and the master turtle, of course. To think this is an all-star cast as well featuring David Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu and Black Jack.
9. Sex and the City. Sorry but I haven't watched the movie because I don't watch its TV counterpart. I just thought that I won't get the full story. They say, the TV series was better than the movie. Is that right?
5. Iron Man. I actually didn't like the film because it didn't have the basic elements of action. I wanted more. Well, I have to wait for the next installation of the Avengers. ^^
4. The Incredible Hulk. This is the best Hulk movie I've seen so far. (Not that I've watched a lot really. Haha.)
3. Twilight. I still haven't seen this as of this writing. Should I watch it tonight? Hmmm...
2. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I was surprised to see Shia Labeouf here because I think he's had a great break at Transformers. The adage "Knowledge is power" suits this film to a tee. ^^
1. Dark Knight. Woohoo! I just love this movie because of The Joker! Sadly he won't be appearing next time, ei? But I'm still hoping for Johnny Depp as The Riddler in the succeeding Batman movie.
Was your fave 2008 movie in the list? I like Wall-E but it's not in the list. Hehe. :)
Aside from Angels and Demons, I'm anticipating the next Harry Potter movie. Honestly, I'm not a fan of the book but I'm such a sucker for effects. ^^ Plus, the story's all right. :D
p.s. Got this from Alex. You might want to catch his blog, it's really entertaining. ^^
I almost literally grew up with Dragon Ball Z (then shown on RPN 9). So this movie will definitely go into a lot of critique not only from me but for all fans of the anime series for sure.
Actually I'm a little hesitant in seeing this film because I think it won't come at par with the original Dragon Ball. Well, I still have till April of 2009 to convince myself to watch it. Was that a blonde Piccolo?
