Microsoft's TV Commercial from Coca Cola's CMO

It's everybody's business. That's Microsoft's new advertising campaign and it suits the current global situation, ei? It is everybody's business, really.

Microsoft's TV ad with Coke's Chief Marketing Officer, Katie Bayne

Never thought that MS does commercials. Well why would they put in a TV ad in the Philippines anyway, I guess. Teehee.

Hmmm... it's nearing Jan 15, the rumored lay-off in Microsoft for 15,000 jobs worldwide. Let's wait and see. Stay tuned! ^^

I Miss Seinfeld

Enter Jerry.

I grew up watching this show at RPN 9 around eight in the evening, if my memory serves me right. I love the stand-up comedy more than the plot itself. I even have a book of Jerry Seinfeld's monologues, presumably in the sitcom. Yeah, I'm that engrossed.

Remembered and got this from TVShack.net and found other series I miss - The Simpsons, Frasier, Will and Grace, Friends. Plus I learned of America's Most Smartest Model. Thank God for uploaded videos. Haha. :D

Moymoy Palaboy Version of Goodbye

Don't you just love Moymoy? Well I do. He's one of the reasons I watch Bubble Gang* even if it's already late at night. Hey, it's Bubble Gang night later! ^^

MANILA, Philippines—The latest YouTube sensation is not a singer in the usual sense, but two Pinoy lip-synching siblings, whose uproarious antics have earned them fans worldwide, including Peter Cetera of the famous 1970s group, Chicago.

The novelty music video act that is Moymoy Palaboy debuted on the Internet in February 2007, purely on a whim. “Trip lang, gusto lang naming makita sarili namin sa YouTube, [We just wanted to see ourselves in YouTube.]” says James Ronald Obeso, a.k.a. Moymoy.

Since then, it has a garnered a total of 7.12 million hits for 22 uploaded videos.

At first, James had difficulty convincing Rofil, his younger brother, who was very shy. But when Rofil finally said yes, deciding to wear a bushy wig to hide his identity, the act proved to be a rib-tickling bombshell waiting to explode.

Using a Sony Ericsson W810i cell phone with a 2-megapixel camera — and with Rofil editing the footage on an HP laptop — the first Moymoy Palaboy video, ‘N Sync’s “Dirty Pop,” featured only James.

Got this video from Pinay Mom in Czech Rep while I was blog-hopping. :)

Chupa Chuck

Life less serious.

Just love the slogan and the commercial itself, of course. The lollipop commercial has been around for months but I still laugh when I see it.

How bad do you want it, Chuck?

I love the girlfriend version though. It's really a cruel breakup, I guess. ^^

And if you're really an avid Chuck supporter, you might want to join The Chuck Appreciation Group. Go Chuck; go suck! (Did that sound right to you? Hahaha.)

Couching the Potato

I missed Survivor Philippines last night because of "girl talk." ^^

Nevertheless there was a city-wide power outage so even if I was at home I wouldn't have watched it either. Boo.

Again, how big an influence is TV in our lives? The remote is really a powerful tool nowadays, methinks. Hehe.

Primetime

What's your favorite TV show genre? Sitcoms, action/adventure, reality shows, drama or mystery/suspense?

My all-time fave primetime TV shows are The Simpsons and CSI. Yay! ^^

Figure out the connection between the two. XD

Manalig Ka by Laarni Lozada

This contest piece of Laarni Lozada (aka Laarni Losala) is a recent composition of Mr. Ryan Cayabyab included in the album Scholars Sing Cayabyab. (Which btw I haven't bought yet. Bummer. >.<) I was rooting for Bugoy to be the Grand Star Dreamer but I think his piece wasn't as competitive as Laarni's. Still I'm happy for him and he's still my idol. ^^ Nevertheless, I knew back then that Laarni had the most beautiful voice among all of them. She just needs to work on her attitude. Keep striving, Laarni. :)

[Will post vid later when my connection gets back to normal. Dam connection again. ~.~]

Manalig ka Malapit na
Makakamit na rin ang 'yong mga pangarap
Manalig ka Malapit na
Bubunga rin ang 'yong mga pagsisikap

'Di na magtatagal
Ika'y itatanghal
Sa pagod at sa hirap
At sa 'yong pagmamahal
Manalig ka Malapit na
Malapit na

Manalig ka Malapit na
Lahat ng 'yong tinitiis ay lilipas din
Manalig ka Malapit na
Lahat ng 'yong inaasam makakamit na rin

'Di na magtatagal
Ika'y itatanghal

Is TV Your Life?

I left this question in this conversation: Does TV have an influence in your life?

Well for me, it definitely has. It may not be my primary influence (thank God I'm not a TV addict) but it still does touch my life. (Naks.)

I was a full-pledged couch potato when I was a kid that it seemed I was the personification of a TV guide. Back then I can tell you what program will show on what channel at what time. Part of my ABCs was watching Batibot and Sesame Street then grew up with the kids at Ang TV and 5 and Up. (Chynna Ortaleza was a host there with my long-time crush Atom Araullo. ^^) Eventually my teenage years were colorized with TGIS and Click. (At that time, our TV can't receive Channel 2's signal.) And of course, who can't escape the animania from Voltes V to Dragon Ball Z to Ghost Fighter to Flame of Recca and many more.

So let me ask you again, does TV have an influence in your life?

P.S. It's the first tribal council later at Survivor Philippines. ;)

Scholars Sing Cayabyab

Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 launched its new album last gala night on Aug 30. Entitled "Scholars Sing Cayabyab", the album showcases Mr. C's new compositions sung by the Headmaster's Top Ten this season, namely Bugoy, Liezel, Inaki, Miguel, Cris, Sen, Van, Apple, Laarni, and Bunny.

See video below for the Top 7 scholars' performance that night as a sampler of the album.

I totally love "Paano na Kaya" and I'm simply delighted that Bugoy, my fave scholar, sang it! (Lyrics below.)

Hopefully, I'll buy a copy to support not only Bugoy but Mr. C because I believe he's truly a great composer. I really like Ryan Cayabyab's songs eversince. We need more "Cayabyabs" to grace the local music industry. More power to OPM! ^^

Kahit isang saglit man lang ooooh...

Paano na kaya?
Di sinasadya
Di kayang magtapat ang puso ko
Bakit sa dinami-rami ng kaibigan ko
Ikaw pa?

Paano na kaya?
Di sinasadya
Ba't nahihiya ang puso ko
Hirap nang umibig sa isang kaibigan
Di masabi ang nararamdaman

Paano na kaya?

At kung magkataong ito'y malaman mo
Sana naman tanggapin mo ooooh...

Bakit sa dinami-rami ng kaibigan ko
Ikaw pa?

Paano na kaya?
Di sinasadya
Ba't nahihiya ang puso ko
Hirap nang umibig sa isang kaibigan
At baka hindi maintindihan

Paano na kaya?

How the "Aswang Issue" Started on Pokwang

As I've stated earlier, I was browsing through local gossips today.

Why? Because I chanced to watch Startalk this afternoon and in the brief moments that I was able to glue in on the boob tube, it so happened that the show launched a new segment named "Commentirador." The segment showcased the antics and blind items from, none other than, Joey de Leon himself. Of course, the first (and perhaps the only) person that I know of that JDL will "stone" is Willie Revillame. But since I wasn't dipping my fingers into the latest scoops and scandals as of late, I didn't exactly know what JDL was implying in the segment. Therefore I researched in the net. ;)

So I gathered that it was Pokwang who was JDL's latest victim. Ahh, but why her, I asked. I got to the Swing Aswang song but not the reason. I got to Willie's defense on Pokwang but not the reason. I got to Pokwang's statement in PEP but not the reason. I was reading tidbits of the reason coming from Eat Bulaga's LA show but not the whole story.

I was beginning to scrap my curiosity when I found the above video here. This clip was the culprit of the still-steaming Aswang Issue.

I think the word "aswang" was put in the song spontaneously by JDL because it rhymed with Pokwang. However it's now a big deal and is the current fad in the network war. It's becoming ugly and I hope it stops for Pokwang's sake. Not JDL's, not Willie's.

Sam Milby's Ass on Primetime

I'm not into TV series much because I hate it when I follow a series then miss one episode. It sucks the life of me then. I'm also not a Kapamilya because of growing up with only Channel 7 on the TV set. (Nevertheless I love PDA! Go, Bugoy! ^^)

So I don't watch Dyosa but I think it's a good series. However was this scene really aired on primetime this week?! Got this while browsing on local chismis. (Yeah, I love juicy rumors. Teehee ^^)

PDA2 Showstopper Night: Star Scholar Liezel

I liked Liezel's performance last night (even more than Beyonce's original, perhaps because she doesn't just belt it out) especially the very dramatic opening. She truly deserves to be the star scholar of the week. Such a pity that she doesn't see her true beauty. Hopefully in the end, she'd know she's really beautiful. ^^

P.S. Yey, Bugoy was saved from probation! He's my fave actually, though Sen is my crush. Hehe.
