Who Wants to Die in a Hospital Anyway?

It's Christmas and ironic to talk about death. Yet we cannot be farther to our death each day that goes by our lives.

I'd like to share a touching story on dying I found on dNeero's conversation. This is Za's story. While her sibling was getting married, she was diagnosed a critical disease and eventually became comatose. Despite the length of the clip, we can learn a vital information on life and death.

Lovely Furniture at Your Fingertips

I love window-shopping at furniture shops and looking at different designs of different furniture sets. So it’s a good thing that there are also sites that help us window-shop and buy furniture online right in the convenience of our very own homes.
Furniture from Home
Furniture from Home has a very convenient site that helps you search for whatever furniture you’re looking for, may it be bedroom furniture, home office furniture, leather furniture, or living room and dining room sets. The website is very organized and appealing to the eye. You can easily look for the furniture that you want with only a few clicks. There is also furniture on sale that you can set your mind to if you’re in a budget but wants a good buy. What I like about Furniture from Home is it gives you the preview of a whole set and you can still decide if you want to buy everything in the set or just parts of it.

So if you’re gearing to buy furniture online now or you just want to look at various displays of beautiful furniture like I do, give Furniture from Home a drop. ;)

I Got Locked in My Own Room

Dreaded DoorknobA few minutes ago my family was shouting and banging the door... from outside this room where I'm writing this post.

My sister Let just got home and tried to open the door of my room when it won't budge. She thought I locked it and I shouted back that I didn't. She asked Mama if someone locked it and Mama didn't know either. Until I also heard Papa in the commotion outside. Meanwhile, I knew that the doorknob will soon be destroyed because it might have locked on its own. I just continued thinking of what to blog.

Their shouting didn't cease so it was my turn to shout back. No, I didn't lock it. Yes, I'm also trying to open it inside. Yes, I tried locking and unlocking it. To no avail.

Papa then appeared from the window. (We have some little space from the wall so that one person can fit and walk right through the side of the house.) He didn't believe that I tried opening the door. He had to see from himself. After making him believe my conscious effort on doorknobbing, they tried to force the door open.

Mama was triumphant with the can opener. Imagine that! A can opener opened the doorknob. Haha!

Let then told me that while she was already panicking on the locked door, Mama was about to eat pizza and wasn't listening to Let. When Let persisted, Mama was dubious if she should let go of her pizza slice. Hehe.

My room can't be locked anymore. At least I'll have pizza later to ease the pain. Haha.

Mourning for Nothing

He's in the frontyard again in his usual sleeping chair.

As if everything's normal again and back in place. As if nothing happened. As if he wasn't away for days.

Yesterday, after two days of no contact or information of his whereabouts, the family has accepted the worst. That something bad has befallen him and caused his death. Because recently he gets bruises and wounds from fights. He couldn't tell us what happened to him when he comes home this way.

I woke up yesterday with a couple of tears when I remembered him and I can't help but be sad till dinner last night. I felt I was like the MV Princess victims' family, who can't grieve completely because his body hasn't been found yet.

However, my ears pricked up when I heard a familiar voice this morning. It was him! I heard Mama scolding and asking him where he had been. She also told him our worries that he might have been dead already.

I rose and walked slowly towards the door until I saw him. I went and cuddled him the way I used to, all the while scolding him, too. I was so happy he's back.

From there, he went on his usual bickering and asked for food. He's always starving. It seems his large frame slimmed down, perhaps due to not eating much the past few days.

After two rounds of eating, he stayed on the stairs, one of his favorite places in the house, where I accompanied him. He went on yowling for food but I said he's had enough to eat for the moment. He was craving for attention so I stayed a little longer by his side. I scratched his head the way he liked it. Whenever I prepare myself to get up and leave, he yowls for more. Until he jumped down the stairs and went for the kitchen.

Ponky drinking from the basinI thought he was heading for food but he went to the wash room. He kept on yowling and I remembered the basin was removed. So I got the tabo (dipper) and filled it with tap water then set it in front of him. He happily licked it for a while then got out the room.

I'm glad my cat is finally home and alive. ^^

Project Paint Gate: Part 2

So I left you off last time with us, the family, disappointed with the paint acquired... the horrid-looking red-violet for our gate.

What transpired with the paint-mixing to get such horridness?
Mama and Papa said that Mr. Paint Mixer in the hardware store asked them what colour they wanted. He then mixed a little white and a lot of red and blue. They didn't approve of the colour, stated that it still wasn't near "pink-violet" so Mr. Paint Mixer added more red. Mama suggested why not white to get pink (and I agree to that) but Mr. Paint Mixer refused. He said that it would get uglier. So he continued pouring red into the can of paint until it got full. In the end, it still wasn't "pink-violet" but they just couldn't tell Mr. Paint Mixer, "Thank you, sir, but we won't be buying that colour," could they? So there goes the story of horrid-looking red-violet. :D

Next day was the start of Project Paint Gate's implementation!

We started out in the afternoon by cleaning

then painting the inside part of the gate.

Papa and I finished the first coat before dusk settled and primetime news aired. But Papa was eager to finish the second coat that early evening so I let him. Hehe.

Darkness enveloped the frontyard and I think my parents' minds as well for Mama said it looked beautiful by nighttime (because of the dark) and Papa saw it was a little like his favourite 'pink-orange' (to which I feared he was delusional).

Wednesday morning I woke up with my parents shouting outside. I don't know if they heard me but I told them to stop arguing especially that they're being practically seen and heard not only by the neighbours but also by the tricycle drivers. (I learned that tricycle drivers can be good sources of neighbourly information. One time Let left the house early and even before his BF could knock on the gate, the trike drivers told him that she already got out a few minutes ago. That's how informative and helpful they were.)

Anyway, my parents were arguing on how to go about the painting... on the upper part of the gate's front side. Sorry, but I don't like other people looking at me so I let the two paint in front of our house. I'm shy. ^^ *blushes*

They went back inside by lunchtime, happy with finishing painting the gate. Plus the fact that the colour improved when Papa mixed a little bit of yellow. They recounted the next-door neighbour commenting that the gate was inviting. To what I don't know. :D

Come afternoon again, they resumed their positions outside and painted the surrounding wall with sky blue. I was blogging by the time Papa asked me if I wanted to paint so I declined. Finished with blogging, I got out, documented their paint job (while I was inside), and envied them for handling paint brushes. I asked Papa what else I could paint, thinking of the gate's third coating since it didn't match the front side's colour. He reminded me that I refused a while ago that's why he painted half of the inside wall already. I wasn't satisfied with the little I painted afterwards. Next time I won't prioritize blogging with painting. If that happens again. :(

So that ends Project Paint Gate. The gate's front side has a lighter shade than inside. But the good thing is it's not rusty anymore. :)

Project Paint Gate (PG)

In the past two days, I and my parents have been re-painting our gate.

You don't know how rust can look so appealing till you see it face to face. Haha. Lookie here. Click on the thumbnail if you dare to see it. Hehe.

One of my childhood dreams is to be a painter. I like the feel of a paintbrush in my hand and swirling it back and forth.
I think I'm a "hand" person. My interests concern the use of hands: writing, photography, programming, painting, playing the piano, singing (you need to hold the mic for that *wink*). But then we all use our hands most, if not all, of the time. So let's scrap that "hand" person I said.

So going back to Project Paint Gate (PG), my parents and I were debating last week on what color to paint the gate with. I wanted mint green. Papa liked the "pink-orange" he saw on the baker's newly-painted house. (I haven't seen the baker's house yet so I can't imagine what "pink-orange" is. Let and I are thinking of peach.) Mama was strongly advocating the "pink-violet" of Let's flowers. (The flowers that Let got from Baguio, which magically changed its colors from blue, green, purple, and pink. What's next?)

Come Monday this week, they decided it's time to buy the cans of paint needed. With no definite color decided yet. I said I'd go but after my long afternoon nap, I can't make my feet go with them. So they went off and came back with *drums please*.... a dark horrid-looking mix of red and violet. I'm sorry to say that it was horrid but it's horrid if you'll paint it on a gate. Our gate even.

All of us were not happy with the color. Not even Mama and Papa. But the paint must be used. And the gate, painted.

To be continued. Need to eat lunch first then rest a while. ;)

View My WebCam

Pansin ko may shifting sa'min ng sis kong si Let sa paggamit ng internet. Ako sa hapon hanggang pagabi then papalitan nya ko pag-uwi nya from school/work.

Kahit na di pa ko inaantok kaninang 10PM, humiga na 'ko sa kama dahil wala na akong gagawin. (Bum nga eh no?)

Jap: Ganyan talaga, mabagal.
Let: Talagang tumigil eh. Nakakatawa nga hitsura mo eh. Hahaha.

[blah blah blah]

Let: Patay kasi ilaw. Hehehe. (sinindihan uli ang ilaw)
Jap: Ah ganun ba. Kita naman kita ngayon ah.

Di ko alam kung sinong mas adik sa dalawa.

Lost Cat

Cat Smoker

My cat Ponky was out of the room for the past few weeks I guess. He came back disoriented. He lost his territorial blankets. Those were moved to a different part of the room.

You see, we moved things in the room so I can accommodate my little niche here. The only disadvantage of having my nook is that I might get lost in whatever I'm doing inside this room. It's like another world when I come out of the door... the living room, the dining room, the TV... they're all out of place.

Bum Connected!

Need I say more? Wahaha XD
